Excursion details

The meeting point for this excursion is Piano Provenzana, 1800 m above sea level, on the northern slope of Mount Etna in the municipality of Linguaglossa. Here we will take 4x4 buses to reach an altitude of 2800 m, where our ascent begins. After reaching the summit craters, we continue downhill toward Piano delle Concazze, where the 4x4 bus will be waiting to take us back to Piano Provenzana

Who can participate?

The excursion to Mt. Etna’s summit craters at 3,300 m above sea level is recommended for those who are already used to hiking in mountain environments and at high altitudes The excursion may be subject to changes due to volcanic risk or adverse weather conditions.

  • Strictly prohibited for individuals with heart conditions, hypertension, asthma, or vertigo.
  • Layered clothing suitable for high altitude
  • Long trousers required (failure to comply will result in exclusion).
  • Trekking or trail running shoes, preferably high-cut

  • Duration: 4–5 hours (including 4x4 bus transport)

  • Elevation gain: +400 m (on volcanic terrain, sand, and lava)
  • Distance: 4 to 7 km

  • Small groups (3–6 participants): €150 per person
  • Groups up to 10 participants: €120 per person

Price includes: licensed volcanological guide, round-trip 4x4 bus transport, and safety helmet.
