Excursion details
This hike does not include the use of 4x4 buses. The itinerary is highly appreciated by visitors, so much so that some compare it to a coral reef due to the striking contrasts created by the volcano and nature. It is therefore a route of great volcanological and naturalistic interest. The trek starts on foot from an altitude of 1,800 m above sea level, reaching a maximum of 2,300 m with a visit to a lava tube cave. The meeting point for this excursion is at Piano Provenzana, on the north side of Mount Etna, in the municipality of Linguaglossa.
